Coat / Sweater / Nail Polish / Boots / Blanket / Anne of Green Gables
For much of the year I’m envious of those of you who live in warm weather climates. But there are a few times each year that living in the north takes the cake, like the first snowfall, waking up to a white Christmas, and those first weeks of Fall! In the words of Anne of Green Gables, “I’m so glad I live in a world where there are Octobers.”
It doesn’t take long before the leaves have fallen and the season begins to shift, so I’ve got the perfect line-up for those of you in need of a Fall to-do list. Here we go:
Pumpkin Spice Lattes (Has anyone tried the new Toasted Graham Latte at Starbucks yet? I’m curious if they are good.)
Put mums on the front stoop
Take sweaters and coats to the dry cleaners (since I didn’t do it in the spring like I should have)
Long evening walks
Bake something pumpkin (pumpkin bread, pumpkin pancakes, pumpkin muffins…)
Visit a pumpkin patch for the perfect pumpkin to carve
Try a new seasonal beer (Who’s a fan of Shipyard’s Pumpkinhead?)
Dinner at a German restaurant (I know Oktoberfest is in September, but it’s okay to celebrate in October too, right?!)
Get a fall scented candle
Watch a scary movie and Charlie Brown’s ‘The Great Pumpkin’
Pick out a pair of tall boots to pine over until they are affordable in the Black Friday sales
Spend an afternoon at an apple orchard (I know you should probably go to taste the apples, but what I’m really after is the apple donuts, apple turnovers, hot apple cider, cider cookies… you feel me?!)
Get my Halloween costume picked out (preferably before the night of)
Pick up a berry shade of nail polish
Re-read Anne of Green Gables (she did coin “I’m so glad I live in a world where there are Octobers.” after all)
Get a Friends-giving on the books
Host a Sunday football party
Get a picture taken for Holiday cards
And since Thanksgiving is just around the corner, take time to count your blessings!
This list might be a little ambitious, but it all sounds so fun! What else is on your list? I’d love to hear!
