The above photo is from a quick trip we took to visit family in Laguna Beach last month. June gloom was in full effect, but you can still tell how incredibly picturesque this part of the world is!
I hope you all had a relaxing weekend! This was the first weekend I’ve been home in the last few weeks, so I got caught up around the house and was trying to enjoy what’s left of the summer!
Below are a few things I’ve come across this week, that you may want to check out:
ONE
You know I love Julia Child; and you know I love Provence, so you can imagine my excitement when I found out that you can rent Julia Child’s cottage, La Peech, in France on Airbnb! It sleeps 6, so it is actually pretty affordable if you are traveling with a few other couples! Here’s a an article on what it was like to stay there if you’re curious.
TWO
I’m absolutely in love with this line of passports (here and here) by Nunuco! It’s a Finnish design, so I’m not sure if you can get them in the U.S. yet.
THREE
We’re halfway through the year! Can you believe it??? Where did the first half of 2016 go? With that in mind it’s probably a good time to reflect on those New Year’s resolutions I haven’t been keeping up with. Mike just finished reading The Alchemist and asked me if I have been “living out my personal legend” lately. He was joking, but the message from that book does make you think about your dreams and where you are headed!
FOUR
Have you watched Chef’s Table on Netflix? Season 2 came out last month and I just watched the first two episodes. Both stories and Chef’s were really interesting and inspiring. If you were a fan of the episode on Massimo Bottura, you’ll be happy to hear that his restaurant, Osteria Francescana, in Italy was named #1 restaurant in the world this year!
FIVE
My Mom recently recommended the book The Shoemaker’s Wife to me and I couldn’t put it down. The story makes its way from Italy, to New York, to Minnesota–three of my favorite places in the world–so it already had that going for it. I loved the characters and was seriously sad to turn the last page! Have you read anything good lately? I’m in need of a few suggestions!
Have a great week and happy travels!
