What to Pack for Kennebunkport, Maine

I thought it’d be fun to put together a what to pack for Kennebunkport list as a follow-up to my Eat, See, Do post earlier this week. And with the 4th of July just around the corner perhaps this post will inspire a preppy, all-American look for your holiday weekend!

Beach day

The first thing on the docket is a beach day at Kennebunk beach or Gooch’s beach. An LL Bean Boat and Tote bag is always a win in Maine. Partly because the company is headquartered there and partly because they are durable enough for the beach and stylish enough to carry around town. Don’t forget to pack a cute suit like this one, a beach hat, sunglasses, and a pair of sandals.

Bike through town

Next up you’ll need comfy clothes to bike around town in. A cotton sweater, ball cap, shorts, and sneakers are all you need for an evening ice cream run to Rococo’s.

 A dinner date

A trip to Maine wouldn’t be complete without a lobster dinner. White jeans and a blouse always look classic. I would also bring along a cardigan in case it cools off at night–especially if you are dining al fresco. How cute is this shell clutch? The perfect accessory for a seaside town.

Lobster Boat Tour

If you decide to set sail on a lobster boat tour I highly recommend packing a pair of Sperry boat shoes. They are the perfect shoe for exploring on land, walking on a boat, and won’t get ruined if they get wet. Casual clothes and a swimsuit underneath will have you prepared for a long day on the water!

Travel Essentials

Don’t forget to download a good book for the beach. A classic leather weekender bag should hold all of your travel essentials and I couldn’t resist putting this nail polish in the round-up because it’s called “I Eat Mainely Lobster.”

If you need a little more packing help be sure to download one of my packing guides here.

Happy travels!
