11 years ago, in the Spring of 2007, Traveling Chic was born! It’s hard to believe over a decade has gone by with this website of mine. This week I wanted to take some time to celebrate Traveling Chic and say thank you to all of you who have made this little corner of the internet such a wonderful place to visit!
My goal for Traveling Chic has always been to provide the very best travel advice and help inspire your next trip. Hopefully you’ve found this to be true! From the bottom of my heart, thank you for all your kindness, for reading and sharing the content on this blog, and for your incredible enthusiasm for travel!
I also wanted to mention that I’m conducting a reader survey this week and I hope you’ll respond! As this website continues to grow and evolve, I want to make sure I’m providing the content you all want to read! You can fill out the survey form here.
I thought I’d share a little background on the early days of Traveling Chic, so let’s take a walk down memory lane.
It’s 2007, the first iphone came out, you were “poking” your friends on Facebook, Britney had a breakdown, Crocs were all the rage, and it was nearly impossible to find stylish travel accessories. Luggage tags, passport covers, and suitcases were all black, grey, beige and boring. Enter Traveling Chic!
There was definitely a need for stylish travel products and Traveling Chic was ready to fulfill that need! For those of you who are newer to this blog, you may not know that this website started as an online travel accessory store. Before I launched my website, my designer suggested I start a blog on the store’s website to help with search engine optimization. Back in 2007 blogs weren’t as common as they are today, and to be totally honest, I thought they were just places where people could rant about politics. Little did I know this little blog would be the start of one of the biggest passions in my life!
I didn’t keep my content from the early days, but I was able to search the archives and find a few of my first posts. It’s amazing to see how far the internet has come with graphics and capabilities!
You can find my very first blog post here (sadly the pictures no longer show) and below is a screenshot from the original store!
Over the years, Traveling Chic evolved from an online store to a source for travel advice. I have been working on a few things behind the scenes the last few months and I’m looking forward to announcing what I’ve been up to in the coming weeks! Until then, thank you all for your continued support of Traveling Chic and be sure to leave me your thoughts and feedback on the reader survey this week here!
Happy Travels!
xoxo, Jenny
Happy birthday! Cheers to many more!
